I am planning on shooting a short by using the double system with my Super8 and a cassette recorder. I was wondering if anyone has tried this with Super8 (or 16mm) and what they've learned, so I don't make an ass of myself... too late.

Are you using sound-striped Super-8 stock?

I know, Super-8 is mostly a silent medium on its own nowawdays. You are on the right track though...after you are done shooting, you'll have to transfer it to video and then add and edit all of your sound into the movie on an editing system after or while you are editing.
